Famous For Not Being Famous

At the age of 85, and the publication of a new volume of poetry, Jack Gilbert is becoming famous for not being famous. This new found fame rests on the discovery of his mysterious failure to become widely known, read, loved.

If he remains famous, he soon will be famous for once not being famous. And finally, the relation to the past reported and forgotten, his public career of being famous for not being famous will end in his being famous for being famous.
