1. A theory which might be true
2. ...is chosen for personal benefit to politicians acting on it
3. ...followed by dismissal of all objections as partisan attacks.
Example:
1. Free Market Economics
2. Profits the corporations which fund the politicians.
3. Opposition dismissed as the usual partisan politics.
Example:
1. War in Iraq for "removing weapons of mass destruction"
2. Profits defense contractors and banks which fund the politicians.
3. Opposition dismissed as the usual partisan politics.
With this tool of thought politicians can justify with pride and confidence anything they do. An attack on this tool of thought will itself be dismissed as the usual partisan politics.
